First Trail Trip With My Son

I had originally decided to buy a scooter for commuting. After much thought, I decided to go dual sport so I could ride with Tucker. I've had it since April and after commuting every day I decided to take a trip up to the Uwharrie National Forest.

http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/recreation/uwharrie/

It's about an hour away from our house.

Here we are at 7am loaded up and ready to go.

We took the easiest trail (because of me) and Tucker. I let Tucker lead the way. Just tooted the horn when I needed him to stop. We rode for over an hour and it was going great. Beautiful weather. On the way back Tucker took the wrong turn we went down hill for almost a mile before we could turn around. It was the most trecherous hill I'd ever seen. We found out later we were on the most difficult trail. I dropped the bike a total of 8 times. Never dropped it before but I new it was inevitable. I bent the handle bars the broke the back left turn signal. This picture is of Tucker after we got back on track. Both of us needed to stop and take a break. Figured it was a good time for a photo.

After 2 hours of riding we are back at the truck. I was absolutely worn out. Not as young as I used to be.

This was a great day with Tucker with many more to come. I just grabbed a beer and it's time to lay on the couch. I didn't know a beer could taste soo good! Man I love America!

Sounds like fun except that detour.

We love to get out in the woods and just run around.

And yes America is GREAT.

Man that is awesome! Any time you get to spend with your son is worth any broken part on your bike. My 7 year old wants to start riding and we almost have mom convinced so who knows, maybe we'll be riding together soon.

I am already prepping my dog house because my dad is getting him a 50cc for his birthday...the wife will know on his birthday.

It is only a wrong turn if you let it be wrong....
If it isn't late/dark a wrong turn is another name for adventure.

You guys are killing me It was a beautiful morning on the trails. I'm fixing everything and getting back out there next weekend. Wrong turn but it was fun. We just know now which trail to stay on. Thanks for the link for the bars. I'll check them out.
