STOLEN!

Today, in broad daylight, someone took my bike from in front of my house. It was found later on a back street with the rear tire flat, the ignition keyhole was damaged and the face of the speedometer was broken.

no it did not have a honda sticker on it at the time.

people are scum!

the cops came and did their job. no fingerprints were taken. My neighbor thinks he knows the kid that did it. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I cant find the hole in the tire yet. gonna put it up on crate and remove tire and patch the tube. I am just thankful to have the bike back. this is my only form of transport at the moment. i really dont want to beat the kid up as much as I want to beat myself up for not having the forks locked!!! STUPID ROB!!!!!

where it was cracked it snapped back together okay. rabbit sells the guage cluster but this one is not damaged enough to warrant changing it out. thanks though..the thought counts.

ps: daughter thinks she may be able to find out who did it. this is a small town.

Yeah I don't think they do the whole CSI thing on stuff like this?

Good that you got it back, but even if the kid just wanted a joy ride, or if he did want the bike... Why break the speedometer? Or was that something that could've resulted from a fall?

No freakin way! Glad you got it back. I live in a very small town too, which thankfully is full of good ole boys. We all know how hard each other works for the things we own. And, it's a big hunting community and just about everyone has loaded guns in their house. That in and of itself is a good deterant of crime. Unspoken neighborhood watch. There is something to be said for back yard rednecks, or woodchucks as we call ourselves around here. I have no doubt that I couldn't walk to any of my neighbors asking for whatever, and they would drop what they are doing to give me the shirt off their back. They all know I would do the same. Times they are a changin', we're just a few decades behind up here in the sticks. Thankfully!

That really does suck but atleast you got it back.

Around here if you want to keep something you just dont flaunt it all over the place, low key is the best way, far to many people here .

My bike is ugly enough that it is its own security system.

The kid probably didn't care that it was chinese. Just wanted to go for a ride.

Many condolances, Mr. Zap. Hopefully they'll ID the fingerprints. I can Mail you an official "Made in China" Baseball bat if you think you can use it....

i reckon it was some punk looking for a joy ride. it looked as if they tried to pry the cluster open to maybe get to the ignition and that was the damage. i dont understand why a person would want to steal something from someone else. it don't make sense to me. im just glad they didnt tear wires out trying to hot wire it.

i used this occasion as an excuse to take it apart again (any excuse is a good excuse ). changed my main jet back to the 98. hopefully no more rich condition, when I pulled the plug i noticed it was black and smelled of gas. tis funny..before I wanted extra power and now I am just wanting extra mpg.
