Just purchased a Tao Tao Rhino 250. Really like the manual shift. We live in the middle of the woods and nothing is flat, so really need to do the gearing mod. With damp, leaf covered ground I expect to run chains year round.
I build and fly all sorts of RC craft even throughout the winter.
Very excited to explore the possibilities of this machine.

Good to have another Rhino owner on the forum. I've had mine for I think about 5 years. The stock gearing was way too tall for my use but a 12/40 ratio works great. Great engine on these quads.

Thanks for the welcome. I have been looking around on the net. Would the 12x40 that you have be a better set than an 11x37. Just want to get a set and be done.Thanks

11/37 would probably be fine for most uses and better for chain wear. I use 12/40 because 40 tooth 428 steel sprockets are cheap.

I know that this is for introductions only but I have one quick question. I purchased the 11 x 37 gear set with the 530 chain. I am hoping the 110 links are enough. My question is, I understand that the ears on the front sprocket retainer need to be ground down and I have read that the bolts need to be replaced with round head Allen type bolts. What are the thread size so that I can get them before tearing the thing down. I live far from town and I hate stopping to make a run. I know they will be metric.
