Actual pics of the new Lifan KPX 250 released

On Facebook, Lifan says ordering is underway and some will be shipping to dealers as soon as this week.

The pictures show it does have upside down front forks. Some of the initial computer renders made it look like it had traditional forks.

I for one can confirm that Venom Motorsports first container will be green and will Update the website once they have them in hand. The Blue and Red will arrive in July sometime. I'm waiting on the green myself.

I was wondering when they would arrive at Venom.

If the KPX 250 had ABS I would get rid of my X-Pect and get one. I want my next bike to have ABS for on-road safety.

I was just told the first container will hit Venom's warehouse on Friday. They should be up for sale by the weekend on the website. You can have any color you like as long as it's green. lol

Given the serious internal Chinese economic issues and, shall we say, political and military tensions between China and the US, I would strongly advise snagging one this summer if you want one. Get your name on your preferred supplier's list ASAP.

So, it would make a lot of sense for us to buy from venom since we know them and they know us right?

I have to admit I’m kind of thinking about it too. Just for that sixth gear. And those normal size tires.

I’d still get Green. How much money are we talking again?

They are also a bit heavier.

Somewhere around 3k-3.5k is likely the price, which is fair IMHO.

The extra weight is expected. The engine it uses is physically a little bit bigger/heavier with an OHC valvetrain and an extra gear. The USD Forks will tack on a few lbs too. Still weighs close to what a TT250 or Hawk weighs at the end of the day.

What I am hoping to see is some level of "aftermarket" gear support, even if from Lifan. Some racks for bags, skid plate, etc. I know it's all easily made ourselves, but it would be nice to see it available to just order too. Sometimes we just want to use the bike, not spend 20 hours making something for it.

The best feature of all though? No damn hump in the seat. Let's just hope it is more comfortable than a plank of wood.

I am holding off on buying a used Klx SM300 and a Bashan Motomax 250 so I can get this Lifan kpx250 by I just do not want to order it from Venom, they are the most expensive.
Do we know any other dealers preferably in the southeast region that might have them?

I was told it would be in the $3000-3300 range. It all depends on what the final cost of the container once delivered. They know the cost of the bikes, it's the final tally on freight they don't know.

I'm hoping i can transfer my skid plate over from my Hawk to the KPX 250. I might have to do a little modifying but should be able to make work. Worst that can happen is I'd have to fab up a new one.

Yeah, the should be a big improvement.

Only thing else I would se me changing is the tires as i would be using more off road. I got brand new tire on the Hawk i can swap over as well.

I will hate to sell the Hawk but this one checks all the boxes all us Hawk owners been talking about for years.

That little extra that Venom charges is worth it. This will be the third bikes from them. Nothing but good service before and after the sale. I had a couple damaged plastic on my X22R. I sent pictures of the damage and they sent out new plastic that week, no questions asked. They inspect every bike before shipping it out. You know they had opened the box because they stick the MCO and Bill of sales in box with the bike if it comes out of there warehouse, which most do. All the paperwork come with the bike so that its ready to be registered and tagged the day you get the bike.

If you read a negative review it's more than likely somebody that didn't properly assemble and maintain the bike and had beat the crap out of it. Then try to blame it on the dealer for selling them a piece of crap.

It definitely does tick all the boxes, and I do believe the skid plate should swap over with maybe a little modifying.

My ONLY concern with this bike is it still will be limited on the highway. I want a smaller engine bike for commuting duty and I just don't do as much off road/dirt road riding as I used to. My new job is 16 miles of pure 65mph interstate with more than a couple of hills. Just not sure if the KPX is enough bike for that kind of ride, and that is the main point of having the bike for me. I may just keep the Hawk and set it up for more pure off road riding and get myself a MT03, which has been on my radar for a while.

The one time I can actually pipe in on one of your posts. I’m going for it. Ha ha.

I would go with the two bike plan for sure. 65 mph up hills, and not a scrawny guy like myself, you’re going to need a real street bike for that basically. I’m thinking the KPX would not be maintaining 65 up long hills. The MT03 looks waaaay better for your commute. Plus the reserve power to get past awkward situations on the highway.

Then, keeping that hawk for more off-road would be a perfect compliment. I can’t see how you would go wrong with this plan. I guess the MT03 costs a little bit more and weighs just a little bit more. But having a smooth stress free commute every day seems like it would be well worth it to me.

Likewise the next bike I get has to be stronger on the street but man it sure is tempting!
