Should I Get the Extended Warranty -Venom Motorsports.

I'm seriously considering getting my 13 year old daughter the Venom 125cc dirt bike.

Is there anything I should know about the latest version?

Is it worth the 2 and 3 year extended warranties?

Is the 1 year warranty for $100 worth it or just the 1 year warranty minus shipping?

Thank you for the information.

Venom is known as one of the very few good sellers ,they have parts in stock ,and will help you if you run into problems down the road .Not sure about adding additional warranty ,but most problems seem to show up pretty quickly after assembly ,and parts are very cheap for the popular bikes ,I wouldn’t bother with it myself but no idea what you can handle yourself in terms of repairs ,internet parts searching and possible frustration .A complete brand new engine for that bike can be had for about $300.00 .You will have to assemble the bike yourself ,adjust the valves ,and do a proper pdi before putting it into service ,so if you can handle that ,you should be golden .You are the service dept with a china bike you bought online .

Thank you, all, for the advice. Since posting this I see they've changed the warranty rates and 1 year inclusive is now $50.

Just so you know, I did take your advice and didn't opt for extra warranty.

To be clear, what do you mean, exactly, about having to adjust the valves?

Well ,having to adjust the valves means you have to get in there and adjust the valve clearances yourself .

This video is very good; especially when started from the beginning.

I'll have to confirm the feeler gauge thickness for the bike I'm getting.

Hello,
I would always recommend the extended warranty to everyone. I would also urge you to get PDI. That is kind of a safety net. All of our products come with a one year parts replacement warranty. Our new Thunder dirt bike is almost bullet proof. Any questions feel free to ask.

You don't need to adjust the valves, they come pre adjusted already. I have had the pleasure of working on them and they are very easily maintained.
The upgraded Mikuni carb is a great addition too.

VTM, are you saying that Venom adjusts the valves themselves as part of their setup routine? Chinese bikes are well-known to have too-tight clearances from the factory. Maybe some brands are more prone to this than others, IDK. My Lifan Xpect's valves were definitely too tight.

The carb that comes on it is the upgraded one or do you mean I should purchase one? (I have heard there is a mikuni copy - is that what you mean?)

So back to the OP's original question, I look at it like this:
The manufacturer (of any product) knows their product far better than you do.
They are betting it won't break even in the extended warranty period you pay for.
You, knowing the product less well, are betting it will.
From their perspective, it's free money for them.

So IMO the less long-winded answer is "Nope".
