Thinking of ordering a Hawk 250.

Can anyone recommend a good place to order from? I am currently looking at rideoncar.us but want to make sure it is a legit site.

Never heard of them. Powersportmax would be one of the more reputable dealers for the hawk. https://www.powersportsmax.com/index.php/cPath/33_83

Thank you. Would you recommend carbureted or EFI?

Personally I rather the carb version. No EFI or electronics to fail on me when out in the middle of nowhere.

Carbs need to be rejetted, but they are easy to work on and cheap to replace
Efi starts easy but a lot more to go wrong.also there have been some post here of people having a hard time diagnosing and finding parts.

Not that I know of. You're thinking of TXpowersports and 360Powersports.

Bought mine from 360 powersports. Would NOT RECOMMEND !!!
No one there gives a damn about anything.
Charged to much for tax and registration, messed up the vin on the title, very hard to get to answer the phone. Charged me 50 dollars to load it in my truck.
Everything I was worried about ordering from the internet they did in person !!
P.S. there are about 5 dealers in the Dallas /Fort Worth area. All the same owners.

My experience with my Bashan Storm tells me you should take a serious look at the 2022 Storm. Look at the luggage rack (already mounted when the bike arrives), the inverted forks, and look at the beefier triple tree that the forks are mounted in!!!!! Nice front end. The engine is counterbalanced, excellent.
Also, look at the ergonomics. My 2021 Storm is excellent. I will post pics of it's current state soon. I did install Tusk rear knobby (Whaooo!!) and a good front knobby. But the bike is solid.

Issues with the Storm? None, really. I did have to adjust the valves, but that is easy enough: 1. replace the fork oil with slightly heavier oil, 2. secure wiring and tether it to the steering stem
https://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=30481

The PZ30 carb is good. Just rejet. Help here on this site to find jets and get it done.

I have been very impressed with the Storm. I paid under $1600, SHIPPED. Might have a link for you to get one for under $2000 post-COVID pricing.

The storm is a great bike. Not perfect, but not bad.

My only issue with the storm is the same issue with the Brozz and TBR7. Goofy tire sizes making tire selection a royal pain in the ass.

There was an assembled TBR7 sitting beside the Hawk at the dealer. I had researched the Hawk a bit, Never heard or a TBR7. I picked the Hawk because of the odd tire size on the tbr7 but in retrospect kind of regret it. The Hawk is a little tall for this old man and the full knobbies are little to much as I ride about 75% on the street. plus it came with a luggage rack(did not know that and 100 bucks less. did not know that either)

I can stand up out of a Hawk seat while still straddling it, so for me the height thing was never a factor and often never even enters my mind when considering bikes. On the contrary, my most often considered issue when looking at bikes is comfort. It's rare for small bikes to fit me well and not feel cramped... or looking like a Grizzly on a tricycle. The main reason I got a Hawk was that it is bigger than your typical 250cc in terms of frame and rider triangle. Still a "small" bike, but definitely more comfy for me. Perspective definitely matters!

Honestly, if the Bashan Brozz came with a 18 and 21 inch wheel setup, I would have bought it over the Hawk.

After experiencing major problems with my son's new TBR7, I regret not waiting for the 2022 Storms. It would have cost about $350 more, but would have been worth the wait. The battery was too big (had to cut the airbox), rack was welded bad (mounting positions WAY off), no hole in the rear brake lever for the brake light spring connection, and the worst is that the left foot peg weld broke off the first time I put my weight on it, in the driveway!! That last issue has me worried about frame welding. Bad.
