Brozz rear rack vs Bashan Storm rear rack ?

My new bike is now at the Estes depot in Charleston, and I am just waiting for them to schedule my delivery. I stumbled upon a Facebook page called Bashan 250 owner of America, and I saw a post about the rear racks on the Storm models breaking under circumstances of very light use, due to poor design, and thin walled tubing. Has the issue of these racks been resolved for the Brozz models ? I would like to be able to use my rear rack.

HI,

That is the only post I have seen on the topic. No other discussion anywhere. I'm not sure it's an issue, but will say the tubing did look thin. I don't remember how they say it happened either.

Evidently the rack broke from the weight of a 6-7 lb bag after 500 miles. It's kind of hard to tell from pictures, but I think the Storm rack may be a different style. I hope it is better on the Brozz.

Yeah, I remember that now. Hopefully it's a one off problem.

I've had some pretty heavy stuff on it and it's been fine.

I was hoping to keep water, flashlights, and a few simple tools and would like to carry some sort of tire repair, and inflation, as well as extra brake fluid. I would hope that it could hold more than 5, or 6 pounds under any riding conditions, even though I don't intend to even come close to pushing mine to the limit of its capabilities.

You'll be fine with that assortment of carry-on items.. I have a portable jump-starter, shades, expandable backpack, a leatherman, a few other small tools, kickstand puck, and a small carry-case for other nick-nacks.. my tail-bag is loaded up and fully expanded, connected with zip ties and has never caused any issues.

In case you're interested this is the tail bag i bought and it fits the lines of the rack perfectly, was a visual guess at the time and very happy with the outcome:
