Coolster 110cc won't start

So I got this atv from a guy I was doing a trade with. He said he didnt know if it ran or not. He said it didn't have a battery. So I got a battery for it, and for a while, it just wouldnt start. So I got a new electrics kit for it, and put on a new selenoid, and sparkplug coil and cdi box. It finally wanted to start and whatnot. But it will only be "starting" when I'm cranking it. It wont stay running, and I have to give it throttle in order to get it to start "running". I cleaned the carb out, and I have adjusted it. But I just don't know why it does this and what is wrong with it now... I have to keep cranking it for it to keep "running"
