Apollo DB007 clutch cable

Good Morning. The lever for the clutch on the bike snapped and the replacement just arrived. Removing the cable was extremely difficult, even when fully adjusted. I eventually was able to replace the lever. However, now I am unable to re-install the cable. Again the cable is adjusted to the max I can. Any tips on this?

NM, I was trying to treat her like a lady.... Turns out she likes it rough... I had to get quite a bit of leverage on the clutch arm to get everything to button up.
