Great New Rear Shock For The Hawk

I just installed the new nitrogen filled adjustable 315mm rear shock. It is longer than the original shock by almost 4 inches even though says 315 its actually longer than 320 stock unit. Ride is so much better over all. Takes the rough trails much better by far and has great rebound and bike sits significantly higher. $64.00 from Aliexpress and only took week and a half to receive by international UPS Expedited shipping that came standard with the order. For the rough trail riding I have in Colorado it is well worth every penny. To install I used two 3/8 machined steel spacers from the hardware store and I also bought two 1/2 spacers and put the 3/8 inside the 1/2 spacers and measured between shock mounts and cut them down evenly per side to fit snug and came out great.

I'm running the same brand of shock and I highly doubt it's 4" longer than stock, your factory shock was probably just beat down.

I agree with this assesment. a 4 inch longer shock would be a 12 inch increase in ride height lol.

The increase in ride height from the factory shock also comes from the single rate spring of the new shock. The factory shock has a dual rate spring with a soft initial rate, so it sags a lot more under its own weight and the weight of the rider.

I measured the old shock side by side and this one was almost 4 inches longer used a tape measure put them side by side eye to eye.

What does the new shock measure? I have a 325mm long shock similar to yours and it was almost the exact same length as my unusued original Hawk shock - just a tiny bit longer. I think it is safe to say something was very wrong with your stock shock. 4 inches is 101.6mm, which if it was the stock length center to center of 320mm, would make the new shock 421.6mm long.
