Motor oil

Hey guy,s new member joined today.
I have a new 2019 Tao 250 tbr7 coming is oil in it ok ?
Or should i change it out and if so what is good oil to use.

Change it and use a 4T Motorcycle Motor oil with a weight that fits the area you ride.
The stock oil that the chinese use on these engines has the viscosity of water. Some people say that the oil the chinese use is just there as an anti rust, other people say it is a "special oil" for the break in of the engine...

Also change the fork oil, it's going to make a HUGE difference on the handling.
My motorcycle was doing quite bad on stoned paved roads, i changed the fork oil to Valvoline 10w, 200ml on each fork and oh boy now it's another bike.

The oil that comes wih your bike is a rust preventable oil. It is not a lubricating oil. Of course, any oil is better than no oil. That said Rotella T-4 10-40 or 15-40 is what I'd use for the first 500 miles, or 820km. Most China bikes read out in km's in the odometer. After 500 miles, change to Rotella T-6 fully synthetic oil. Rotella is easy to get at Wal-Mart, a lot of people on here use it...ARH

Finally! Somebody else chimed in on this lol.

I would add, follow the Hawk resource/info guide's first post on setting up the bike (link in my sig). Everything in that first post applies to just about every enduro currently sold.

There are guys here that will argue stuff like the brake fluid isn't necessary, but I leave that up to the end user to decide. I personally would rather spend $10 and know it's good, than be a cheap ass and potentially have issues.

I would be one of them! High ZDDP levels which is great for the solid tappet lifter/follower valvetrain, good detergency levels, wet clutch rated, and the right viscosity (15w40) that these engines call for.

At the very least T4 does make a perfect break in oil. After that, if you want to spend more on fancy 4T oils, be my guest. I've logged thousands of miles on T4 between both Hawks with 500-800 mile oil change intervals and had zero complaints. Heck, many classic Goldwing owners (myself included) run it as the main oil in their bikes for many tens of thousands of miles. It's a great basic oil.

Absolutely. GN4 is just the OEM Honda 4T motorcycle oil.

GN4 is not considered anything special ,if you have it already or you can get it cheap then fine ,but if you are paying up for it just find yourself something else .

Trying to determine which bolt is which for oil change.

The bolt on the bottom left of the engine is where all the videos show, but mine has a bolt on bottom of engine in middle as well.

What is this one for? Some type of oil drained from it as well when I opened it.

Drain is bottom center. Side bolt on shifter side will have spring inside and your screen filter.
Drain from the bottom bolt, then remove side bolt, spring, filter, clean filter, replace. Reinstall bottom bolt and fill.

Thanks, videos I watched just show the side being removed. I felt like I’d get more out from bottom being drained. Why 2 drain plugs?

Side isn't a drain plug, its the filter screen cap.

The TT250 like all Chinese motorcycles have a lot in common with each other, far more in common then the actual differences between manufacturers and models. CSC has lots of tutorials so take advantage of them just know your particular bike may have minor differences.
