Hello Everyone. Lots Of Good Info. I've Got Some Questions
I am looking at the potential of getting my first motorcycle (streetbike). I was originally invisioning an early 90s Ninja or somthing, but they arn't as cheap as I'd hoped. I was told about the Lifan streetbikes and I am now quite interested. From what I've heard and read these bikes are pretty good for the $. They are nice looking and for the money brand new it is impossible to beat. I live in Phoenix, AZ- close enough to possibly justify picking one up in Southern California.
I would like to know what some of your recomendations would be for bike model (engine size) and expiriance as far are the bikes being trustworthy or problematic. My motorcylce riding experience: NONE |

Welcome from Yuma. I don't think there are too many Chinese dealers in Phoenix, but the Baja Motorsports headquarters are in Scottsdale, or somewhere in the Phoenix metro area. If you want a cheap Lifan, w/o the committment (i.e. warranty, etc) try T-motorsports. Some members here had some problems with them due to shipping/MSO issues, but one member picked up a dirt bike directly from them and had no issues. I only mention this because you said you were willing to drive to S. Cal, and they are located in Pomona, about 50 miles east (closer to you off I-10!) of L.A. Not sure if you can get away with no sales tax, you being from out-of-state, but its worth a try. My suggestion, and the member who actually picked his up in person was the one who mentioned this (member 'Liverchip') is to make sure the paperwork is in order while you are there.
You can easily register your bike at Cash-and-More 1 or 2 in Phoenix through their off-site MVD office. I ended up doing that when the Yuma MVD was trying to make me get a title bond for my Jetmoto enduro--it was the paperwork they did not like, as it, as well as the Lifan streetbike's lighting, is more than adequate to be AZ legal. I had to get some college transcripts from Univ of Phoenix and Rio Salado for a new job, so was going to Phoenix anyway. One of the old, non-active members had gotten his Roketa enduro registered there, and he gave me the info for them. They had no hassle (and no line, bonus!!) and he even got his registered after 8 pm as they are open late (they do check cashing/payday loans/pawn shop/etc). I paid $10 on top of the AZ fees, and after $54 or so, I had my plate and sticker. See if this will link you--any other AZ residents, I highly recommend them, too http://local.yahoo.com/details?fr=dd...IlaS7wVQFUJyCa

Welcome from the White Mountains, Not sure about a Lifan in PHX..To many freeways...You might look into a Hyosung. Good bikes and they have more than enough speed to do a freeway.
