I did the exact same thing when I first got my bike. Make sure there is some play in the throttle cable when it's closed. Adjust the idle from the adjuster on the handle bars first once your good there adjust idle screw on carb. What size jets (main and pilot) are u running? I had to try all jet sizes from #95 thru 125, ended up with #100 running the best. Also check for vacuum leaks, those will cause your high idle.

I took all the emissions stuff off but I don't have emissions I have to pass. You need to either hook every thing back up or plug vac lines before even trying to get it to run. Once you get that done you will be riding in no time

Would be easier to look up my post on here, I think there's pics showing what I plugged. There is quite a few vac lines on the canister by the seat so when you remove that the vac lines come with it. On mine part of the bracket that held the EGR on had a plate that I used to cover where the EGR went. I put a small filter on the crankcase breather hose. I originally drilled a hole in the intake but ended up just plugging it as it's not needed.

ITS AALLLLIIIIIVEEEE lol now it's just idleing at about 2.5k rpms I switched the carb cap from the older one to the vm22 one, I thought I was able to use the old one but apparently it was pulling the throttle cable do to the elbow, just got to figure out how to lower the idle on this thing and I'll be good trying to turn this idle adjustment screw that's not doing anything I'm quite sure I got to plug up all these holes correctly
