Headlight led upgrade help needed.

So I just placed my order for a new boom/vader 125 (gen 1)
Obviously looking to get this thing going propwrly from the start so the plan is;

Led bulbs to account for the battery drain

Engine bolts

Mikuni carb

I am having a hard time locating the proper bulbs to replace with.

I HAVE searched the forums and found several links but tjey are all to expired products/pages. If someone could provide an active link to the bulbs or even the carb and bolts, it may help other new grom clone buyers locate a more updated source for upgrades. Not sure whether this should be in the pocket bike or street forums so sorry for the double post.

This Mikuni VM22 link should work :https://www.ebay.com/itm/VM22-Carb-2...72.m2749.l2649
You will also need a jet kit : ttps://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-Carb-Jet-for-Mikuni-VM22-VM24-VM26-125-150-200-250cc-Dirt-Pit-Bike/121793729005?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2057872.m2749.l2649

I cant help you on the bulbs but i do know someone has listed them before, I'll try and dig around and find them , if I do i'll post them here . ( btw dont use the vendor for that jet kit in that link, she is too slow, go to it then copy and paste description and find a US based vendor.)

The bulbs are H11. I started off with the LED that have a fan on the base as I wanted as bright as possible. I couldn't get it to fit. I ended up with a LED that has the same base as the stock one. There is a post on this forum that has a link to the one I'm using now. 2 bulbs were 29 bucks I believe.

here`s the link---https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm sure there are better out there but there isn't a lot of room behind the headlight housing.

Pick up the VM22-133 kit here. That way it's a genuine Mikuni carb.

Bulbs... you'll have to search around.

Engine bolts... M8 x 1.25. Use class 10.9 or 12.9. Class 10.9 is grade 8 equivalent. Class 12.9 is a higher grade. For bolt length, don't remember off the top of my head but I've posted it before for the Icebear Fuerza (I think). You'll have to do a quick search.

Other thing you should do when you get the bike in, take the plastics off and inspect the frame. Look/inspect the welds. Look for rust. If there is rust, see if it is surface rust from a scratch in the paint... or if it is rust that went all the way through.

Doh! 10 or 12 Hardness on those bolts?

Aren't grade 8 bolts a better choice?!?,, I'd rather BEND a bolt than have it shatter! especially while 50+ mph... just me perhaps..

Grade 8 is SAE. Class 10.9 is metric. Class 10.9 is the equivalent of Grade 8. Class 12.9 is stronger than Grade 8.

https://www.fastenermart.com/underst...d-classes.html

These Chinese bikes use metric.

"New 12V BA20D H6 4 COB LED White Bulb" is what I ordered off Ebay. One of them burned out as soon as I turned it on. The other one was ok. Not the greatest light but I wired in a switch to turn off my front lights anyways.

I ride with only the led light bar on unless it's dark. I think if you find a quality BA20D H6 led you'd be ok. For $2.65 from china I was willing to take the chance.

Also forgot to mention in my previous reply...

The bending a bolt instead of shatter... the factory motor mount bolts are shearing. The issue (or rather the accepted issue on all the facebook groups) is the vibrations from the factory 125cc are causing the factory bolts to shear.

That's why people are upgrading to a higher strength bolt. With grade 8 and class 10.9 being essentially the same (class 10.9 is metric, grade 8 is SAE. See previous reply for citation), if all you want is grade 8 equivalent, then class 10.9 should be fine.

If you want something stronger, class 12.9 is higher grade than grade 8.
