New Magician in Louisiana

I just received my Magician 250 here in Louisiana. I am hoping it isn't difficult to get plates, I haven't seen much information about this particular bike in my state. Either way, I'm looking forward to getting it rolling this weekend!

Welcome! I don't believe you will have any issues getting it registered. JerryHawk there has a Hawk registered in your neck of the woods.

Thanks fellas! Glad to be here. I'm over in Lafayette, so pretty close to you, JerryHawk. I've been wanting to try out a chinese bike for years, and I finally pulled the trigger. Now if I can get my DRZ's carb sorted and this thing registered, I'll be able to go on adventures with the newly licensed biker in my house.

We done a good bit of construction work out in the Lafayette area. Getting ready to start an ACME Truck building next week in Scott. Registration should be easy. Go to one of the Notary/Tag places so you don't have to deal with the idiots at the DMV. Make should be the same as the Hawk "Hoasen" Got mine done in about 15-20 minutes.

Thanks for the tips guys. I got the bike uncrated, assembled, oil changed, and many bolts tensioned with LocTite last night. Going to work on starting it up tonight. The bike seems pretty solid for the most part. Some of the frame welds are ugly and some of the bolts seem to be much cheaper than others, but overall there are a lot of good looking components here and they seem to be decently well laid out.
