opening day

may 1st is the season opener for our spring turkey season here in ny, although i didnt have to wrestle with a six foot pit viper i. i did have a great day otherwise. the pics are off my phone so i couldnt zoom in but if you look you can see the gobbler strutting on his way into my decoy, he is at about 100 yds in the pic.
he weighed in at 21lbs 9" beard and 1" spurs.

my old 870,12 ga
3" hand load 1 3/8 oz. of #6 & #4 copper plated shot

i have one tag left so im gonna finish the season with my bow.

Too bad I don't hunt. I have a ton of them on my property pass thru all the time. The last thing I need is ANOTHER expensive hobby. ;-)

The toms around here are making the angry birds look like pussys. There mad as hell and not going to take it any more.

Neighbor has fed them for the past year or so and turned them in to pets. I think the overpopulation is coming to a boiling point around here

being well fed they should be nice and plump and ready for the deep fryer.
