2008 china bike copy rim and tire sizes

Mine's a BSE (Bosuer) but same as a Apollo, Gio, and a number of other 250cc clones of that year. Uses a Zongshen motor.

My question, does anyone know that largest rim and tire combo that will fit these bikes? The bike has a 17"/14" now and they look awfully small for the bike. I'm pretty sure a 19"/16" would fit but thought I'd see what others have or have upgraded to.

I know the Gio bikes were sold with 21" and either 18" or 19" wheels ,but I don't think they will fit properly on your bike .I am pretty certain your fork legs and rear swing arm are shorter than on the bigger wheeled bikes ,and I would think the rear tire will be rubbing on the front of the swing arm ,and the front rim will be bottoming out probably non stop and might even have interference issues with the exhaust .
If you are in need of some wheels ,I am pretty sure I have a set of 17-14 wheels from a Gio in my storage container I do not need ,you can have them for free as I am trying to clear out most of my bike stuff .

Damn that's extremely generous of you Bruce and I'll take you up on that if I can't go bigger in size.

I hear what you're saying, what are your thoughts looking at the pictures? The rear can still go back another inch and a half to two inches.

They both just seem too small for this bike but maybe it is what it is. I does seem like someone changed them out at some point. The rear axle adjuster is a 15mm but the axle shaft and rim through is 12mm. Something seems off but if it could be normal for these clones.

I would think you might be able to steal an inch or two either end .The wheels are here if you want them .
