Cabin Air Filter Nastiness

I was reading the shop manual for my old GMC Sierra 1500, and I discovered that it has two cabin air filters. I picked up a couple for cheap on eBay and removed the old ones. Gross.

The air vents seem to move more air now, although I don't have a way to quantify that. What I know is that I feel better about having clean filters in it, and the pair was less than $10. I doubt that they've ever been changed since the truck was new in '99.

That's nasty. Something I'm sure is commonly overlooked.
That being said I've never replaced one .... Lol

Egads! The airflow and air quality must have certainly improved.

Hmm, I need to research and see if these are on our 98 Silverado. If so they will prolly be as gross as those. Off to google!

Thanks for the info!
