X18 horsepower claims?

OK so I've always thought that the super pocket bikes shared identical engines to every other 110 pit bike, ATV, etc. but recently I'm noticing horsepower claims for 14-16 hp. I know some sellers just throw out false numbers to sound good, but is there any merit to this? I've owned a 110 super before & couldn't tell much difference in power, but maybe mine was wore out? It's not just one site advertising this either or I would ignore it.

The reason I ask is because I have the opportunity to score an X18 cheap just so I can have kick start capabilities on one of my quads I'm building, but if they honestly put out more power then I'm a happy camper. Can't be true though right? If it is then what's so different that doubles the power?

I have seen some pretty well built clone engines. They have alot of work done to them. 4 valve heads etc.

I could see 14hp from a pure race built engine.
