Attention: Roketa DB-07A Owners

Please do me a favour, and tell me the first six characters of your engine serial number. It's located near the shifter. Much obliged.

I searched the forums and found only a few in the last couple of years. I sent out a couple of PM's, but no responses yet.

I certainly hope someone replies, Weld. :? Have you considered contacting the people at www.roketa.com?

I haven't, but that's not likely to produce the info I'm seeking. If one of my CR brothers confirms that his motor serial number has the same first six characters as mine and his bike will do 65mph, then my bike must be a 200cc. My motor serial number indicates a 125cc displacment, and I don't want to put any more effort into this motor if it really is 125cc.

I sure don't want to remove the head and confirm unless I have to.

Not what you asked but my 2006 Shineray GYII has these numbers 169FML 6F050623. Strained to do 55mph with stock sprocket, will do 65 to 67 on speedo (not gps) with a 43 tooth sprocket.

Thanks for your reply. 167FML indicates a 200cc engine, and that's what i wish mine said. I'm hoping that the number on my engine is a typo, because all indications point to it being a 200.

It could be a transplant engine that was installed in Mexico. We were in PV a couple of weeks ago, and 125 clones are everywhere.

Did your bike come from Mexico? :?: Are the hondoid motors built like the Honda XR motors, with the rocker arms located in a cylinder head cover?

I think the bike was purchased in the US and then ridden by intoxicated seniors on the beaches of Mexico. If the engine really is a 125, then my guess is that the original motor failed and was swapped in some little Mexican shop. Coincidentally, I was in PV a couple of weeks ago, and 125 Honda clones were everywhere. Didn't see more than a couple of 200's or 250's.

Yes, I think the engine is designed just like an XR, except that it has electric start. Perhaps some of our UK friends could tell us if an OHC Hondoid 125 exists there. I don't recall seeing an OHC Hondoid 125 in the past; only pushrod motors, like the CG125.

I bet it's still a 200 (63.5x62.2) because the common chinese 125 56.5x49.5 / 145 61x49.5 (OHC) / 149 62x49.5 (OHV). Measuring tape will tells the story (#19 had the idea): http://www.motorfans.com.cn/bbs/view...originator=yes

There's OHC 125 clone in UK. Search "On the Problem of the XR200" in google. Interesting info about Jialing.

Bah! My cylinder does appear to be 69mm in height, so it is pointing to the smaller displacement. That said, I cleaned off the serial tag on the stem, and the first six engine characters are 169FMI (which translates to 125cc), but the tag also says 200GY. That rules out a mexican heart transplant; whatever it's packing is what it came from the factory with.
