Clean as well as running well

Good evening guys hope this is an appropriate post.
I believe in having a vehicle that is both good looking and clean as well as proper running, no matter what type, 4 wheels or 2. I cleaned my zong and treated the plastics and seat but don't know what I can use to bring the wheel spokes back to a good lusture and shine. If anyone knows of something that can be used please let me know.
Thanks

I'm also VERY OCD. All of my vehicles, including my old Ranger, are perfect. It's not something I recommend though!

Not much you can do for your spokes.

If you wanted to go nuts you can do what restorers do. Remove them all and cadmium or nickle plate them. You can also chuck them in a dril and polish them one by one.

I can't tell you how much I would not bother!

If you want to do something and have a few hours to kill, I recommend Flitz. It's an excellent metal polish. From Germany.

Wear gloves. It's messy and it stinks. :?

Thanks doc. I'll try to find the flitz online. I don't mind spending the time polishing and I'd prefer not to take the spokes out as I wont know how to set back properly and might cause trouble with the wheel truing

I agree with FastDoc; Flitz metal polish is a good product. I think you are wise not to remove the spokes for polishing.

I build my custom wheels with heavy duty, stainless steel spokes, which I purchase from Buchanan's Spoke and Rim.

Chain Wax. I believe made by Maxima. DO NOT get the synthetic. It makes a mess.

Google or eBay 'Cable Luber'. Your local bike shop may have them.

Yes, Maxima Chain Wax is perfect for cables as well as chains. This is a cable luber:

Hi spud just a quick question or two, where would I be able to purchase a new 18 or 19 inch rear rim? I will order an 21 inch rim for the front from roketa, would the 18 rear 21 front or the 19 rear 21 front be a better combination? i have checked the Buchanan site for the spokes but don't know which set i would need to order if I intended to build a custom wheel either 18 or 19 inch,

I know that there are things that we have to learn to do to keep our bikes up and running and I'm going to learn how to lace and true wheels, I will order one of the stands and go from there. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, I'm reading and watching as many tutorials as I can find so I am learning but need to actually do it myself
Thanks in advance to you and anyone else that can guide me in the right direction

Don't order a 21-inch rim, order a complete, 21-inch front wheel from Roketa. I recommend an 18-inch, rear wheel. If you wish to build a custom rear wheel, you will need to order custom spokes. Talk to Buchanan's, or another spoke manufacturer, and they will help you design your custom spokes.

There is a much better tire selection for 18" rims.

That is exactly why I recommend the 18-inch rear wheel.

Thank you very much guys. I will contact Buchanan and get the info needed. Is there a specific 18 inch rim you would recommend or does Buchanan carry those too?

I recommend a size 2.15-18 rim with the proper number of spoke holes.
