Gio rebel t3 battery

There is a rubber red cap on my battery, it goes over a small nozzle, looks like something for over flow?? am I suppose to take it off?? When it is off what seems to be water sprays out of it, but I think it is actually the acid because it leaves a white residue wherever it drips...

It is a vent.

You are supposed to remove the red cap and hook up the tube that came with it. This is supposed to be done when you fill it and before charging it.

As far as anything comming out of it there shouldn't be anything or at the very least very little. When the battery was filled did it get filled to high? There are 2 lines on the battery min and max fill levels. I suspect yours is over full.

I add a long line to mine and run it down the frame so anything that comes out winds up on the ground rather than on my ride.
