1984 Yamaha RZ350
I spotted this hot little 2 stroke today while on my lunchtime jog:
This is very similar to the yellow 1985 I used to race. Mine was a Kenny Robert's Special. I NEVER should have sold that bike!

the RZ was a great bike... never owned one But I raced a RD350LC.
then a Honda NS400R Water cooled V3... Had a few good battles against the the RZ on the track.. Theres so meany bikes I should never have sold... The Suzuki RE5 at the top of the list..followed by the Kawasaki S3 400 triple..

Wow Pete, you've had some interesting bikes!
I had a cardiologist friend with an RGV250 Gamma and an RGV500 Gamma. Those were awesome machines! BTW it took connections and money for him to get those bikes plated in Kalifornia. They were probably the only ones of their type in the state. I'd LOVE to get a later first generation GSXR750/1100 someday.

I used to have one, used it as a daily rider, (about 55 miles round trip. ) After I made the trip in 20 mins VS the normal 45 I decided to sell it. It and I on it just liked to go too fast. esp in the morning when it was cool out.
And thats why I am riding 175/200cc bikes on the street now lol So I can't get myself into too much trouble. |

the first model blue/white..2nd model, black/red had a 25mm longer wheel base.. then the second gen,,slingshot had a 42mm stroke engine in stead of the 48mm in the first gen... the 42mm stroke motor your foot had to tap a tune on the gear lever on a tight winedy road.. They went back to the 48mm stroke in the end... Only bought the GSXR over the RG as I was going to do a bit of 2 up rideing..dam females stuff everything up..

I know I'll NEVER find a Gamma but I can still get a first generation GSXR. I need the red/white/blue model, and I'm leaning towards the 1100. Almost the same weight as the 750, easier to ride and better ergonomics. IIRC the clip ons are on top of the tripple tree rather than between the clamps. I had about 50,000 miles on my GS1100E and I love that engine family.
