Probably made by Chongqing Hi-Bird. I haven't seen a 164 FML but all that means is it has a 64mm bore and it's a 200cc class engine.

I have an '06 Hi-Bird 200 parts bike... with the 164 fml engine. It's just a typical, ~200cc, overhead valve (OHV) "pushrod" honda-based engine... (no counter balancer). Same type of engine used in many imported china bikes... even Lifan.

Cheers!

How do i know if its counterbalanced or not?? Is the cylinder head the same as the 163fml-2. I know of a guy selling one with a bad cylinder head. I seen many on ebay for the 163 but nothing for the 164fml. i guess there not much difference between a 63.5 v 64 bore is, there?

There would be less than 3cc difference between the two bore sizes, assuming the same stroke in each case.

The counterbalanced version has a bulge in the front of the bottom end, below the exhaust pipe header. It matches the width of the bottom end, and it's finned on either side. If you show us a pic of the engine that is for sale, we can point to the counterbalancer and answer your question about the head.

If you look at the pic of my Kinroad (link in my signature)... you'll see the finned bulge at the front of the engine case. That's the internal counter-balance. That engine is a 163FML. The engine (non counter-bal) on my HiBird parts bike is a 164FML.

Cheers!
