Those are the liquid-cooled, fuel-injected Lifan KP/KPR 200's. PSM got permission to mail-order them. I believe they are also selling the KP Mini 150 (CARB legal) as well. Venom is mail-ordering non-CARB legal KP Minis as well, which I am guessing are new, old stock 2017 versions. I would consider a KP 200 ('street fighter' version vs. fairing KPR 200) but Lifan is supposed to sell their KPT 200 adventure touring bike in the US soon, as well as their sweet looking cafe-style bike according to the head of A. Lifan when I happened to catch him by phone (the usual sales manager was out playing hookie or ill or at a motorcycle show? ). I asked him enough questions that he thought I was either a competitor or a dealer, lol. He did mention something about 250cc street bikes, and Lifan's corporate site shows a good looking 250 street fighter style bike soon to be released. However, I got the impression that Lifan will offer their 250 in the models they already sell here, but of course, not for a while as they would have to pass EPA testing, of course.

Someone recently joined us with the KP 200, but has not reported on it since. If I recall, he was new to motorcycles, and it might have been his first bike?

This is the adventure bike http://www.lifanmotos.net/product/qs...-03-22/30.html and this is the café bike http://www.lifanmotos.net/product/qs...-05-07/83.html

I had reported before in a post weeks ago after an accidental phone conversation with the head of American Lifan (like I said--I don't think he meant to pick up a customer inquiry call, lol) that their upcoming X-Pect 200 would be fuel-injected; I called A. Lifan this afternoon, and the sales guy reiterated that the X-Pect 200 will have 'the same engine as the KP/KPR 200' meaning it will be fuel-injected AND liquid cooled. I am not holding my breath and I don't want to spread misinformation, but am stating what was told to me. Heck, I would settle for the typical carb 'formula' of a simple thumper with a carb stuck in a Chinese enduro that numerous brands are already selling here as the Lifan should be a cut above the rest even with a 'mere' 200cc engine as I remember their GY-5 200 enduro was very potent when it came here about 10 years ago (I missed that boat). But a simple Chinese enduro with an already somewhat proven fuel-injected and liquid cooled engine could make it a game changer, and price should theoretically be less than their KP/KPR200 street bikes, which would put it in CSC TT250 territory. March 2019 should bring new bikes here, although no telling which ones (if any).

Sweet! I noticed PSM has them listed as air cooled. But looking at Lifan's site they have them as water cooled. 17hp and 6 speed tranny

HAH! Excellent reporting as always, culcune!

Though................ I just did now see that they aren't CARB "streetable". Just green sticker. I guess that's awesome if you enjoy riding street bikes in the dirt!

I wonder how much confusion and problems this will cause for those who are expecting a license plate and instead get a sticker in the mail.

I do believe PSM has it slightly wrong...these are California street legal. My guess is they say 'green sticker' by default due to all the offroad products they sell.

Well, we all know how incredibly accurate these Chinabike websites are! LOL!
My Rhino was green sticker for the longest time on SPS's site...then when I went to order, it showed red sticker. I called them. They had it wrong and changed the web page.

Glad to hear they're street legal! Not that I wish CSC any ill-will, they've been nothing less than excellent, but this is a hell of a market here and there's a lot of money to be had for those willing to play. You know what it's like culcune. I'd love to see more variety here.

I am cautiously optimistic for the apparent Lifan enduro that will supposedly have this fuel injected/liquid cooled engine...should be Cal. legal. BUT, I will settle for the adventure bike...

CARB exemption for Lifan 200cc

In March 2017, Lifan received an executive order to Lifan on the 198cc engines. This means the 198cc (200cc) engines can be sold in California during that model year. Maybe someone can tell us that it may be legal for 2018 and 2019? I dunno. My guess is PSM is selling left over 2017 models.

Their 198cc engine was certified for the year 2018. It seems more difficult navigating CARB's site, not to mention the certificate only appeared to give engine model numbers, but it did have their 198cc engine with SFI which would mean their KP/KPR 200 bikes. On a related note, both bikes are on the 2019 EPA on-highway list, and are listed for 50 states; my guess when listed for 50 states they intend to get CARB certified, as some bikes state 49 states (as if their manufacturers don't intend to get CARB compliance). According to two people from American Lifan, a third and forth bike with the same 198cc engine are coming (KPT and X-Pect).

After all the years CARB has been in effect, the fact not a single other State has followed suit with it's guidelines leads me to believe it is in actuality nothing more than more Calilunacy which doesn't do much other than make life more difficult and expensive for it's Residents. If I were a Manufacturer , I certainly wouldn't spend exorbitant sums for California only requirements, when much less would still give me 49 State and Federally legal compliance , conditions are just not that "special" in California to warrant this.
That said I like the looks of the LiFan models and will be following their arrival for sale here in the States .

The problem is, some states ARE using CARB's standards; I believe NJ and a couple others. I recall some members stating that is what their Dept. of motor vehicles is telling them. I have seen a few retailers list 3 or 4 states that certain bikes cannot be sold to, even though that particular model's EPA/DOT certification IS 49 states. Lifan is headquartered in California; same with CSC so some companies like those two will simply spread the extra cost of CARB compliance to everyone. California has the potential to be a very lucrative market. I saw plenty of Vaders and a few Hellcats, not to mention those funky 150cc scooters that look like sport bikes when I worked part-time as a delivery guy in downtown L.A. up to a few months ago.
