Zongshen Petcock

So I have a pretty big gas leak from the stock petcock and gas tank. I already used many different things to try and seal it back up without having to buy everything again, it worked great but now it leaks again. Does anyone have any suggestions? And if need be, is there a non-Chinese replacement (so I don't have to wait forever for it) and do i need to order the fuel tank and petcock together? Thank you for all your help.

Your petcock is available on Ebay and Amazon. You just need to match up the one you need. If your petcock is the kind that can be disassembled then you only need to replace the o-ring. Post a picture of your bike and the petcock and we can probably help you out.

Do you think there is something wrong with your fuel tank?

I have Zongshen Sierra 200. The motorcycle is currently at my friend's house that lives far away, so I can only send a picture I found online. Below is the petcock that I have, and a picture of the motorcycle I own.

That is a very common petcock. But you do need to know the thread size of the nut the red arrow is pointing at as they come in different sizes.

I don't know if this is the correct one for you but if it is I would be all over it. It is completely serviceable with removable valve and removable filter and removable drain bowl.

I gave my original, Zongshen, ZS200GY-2 fuel tank to Weldangrind. He can measure the fuel petcock to help you ensure you purchase the correct one.

I had the same problem with my Hisun Viva. Definitely, get it replaced. I also had a struggle finding the right one for mine as well. Since the original one had a reserve bowl on it(it had a crack in it). I wanted a regular one. I measured from screw hole to screw hole and also measured the width of the apparatus itself. Also, I had to compensate for the reserve as well.

check your measurements against this:

I have a similar petcock on my Runmaster. Thankfully, it doesn't leak.

How does the reserve work on a single pickup tube petcock like that?

Cheers!

Inside the filter is a 3" straw. On open the gas flows in through the straw and you will run out of gas at the top of the straw. On reserve gas flows in at the bottom of the straw and you will run out of gas when the tank is empty. The height/length of the straw is your reserve amount.

Does this make any sense? Hard to explain.

I finally remembered to measure the petcock. It is 6cm overall, and the thread is 15mm in diameter. Is there another measurement that you need?

Thanks everyone for their help so far... weldandgrind, how do the measurements of the petcock you have match up with

http://atvparts.cc/yamaha-op-ct-ct1-...SD&language=en

and

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zongshen-GS2...8e4833&vxp=mtr

Looks like I would also need to know the entire length (with filter on top) also. I think. I'm really bad with these

The one from the atv parts store is the wrong kind. The one from Ebay looks correct but again you need to confirm the thread size. They come in all different sizes. The Ebay one is also too expensive. You can get them for $10.00.

Going by Welds information if you need a 15mm threaded petcock this should be the correct one.

X2. That's a fair price.
