Hawk 250 Data

Been helping a friend assemble one (Assembly Pictures - whenever it gets done)
If you consider it a combination of:

Honda NX 150 (Engine [maybe] and Some electrical layout - Battery on right side)
Honda NXR 150 ESD (2009) (Frame, Plastics, Attachments, Front Disk, Rear Drum, non-applicable ECM controlled engine - Battery on left side as on Hawk)

Then some torque values are:

Front axle is 44 Nm
Top bolt of of front shock clamp 22 Nm (NXR 150 has side-bolt clamp, Hawk has front-bolt clamp)
Bottom two bolts of front shock clamp 32 Nm
Swing arm is 88 Nm
Mono shock is 44 Nm top and bottom
Rear axle is 93 Nm
Handlebar Clamps 26 Nm (dot on clamps pointing at front wheel)
Front disk brake caliper 30 Nm

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info! Helps a lot. You wouldn't happen to know who sells nxr 150 parts and ships to/within the US would you? I've been searching for days and so far I've only come across Brasilian sites who will only ship within Brasil.

Hawk 250 Data again

Front muffler mounting bolt 26 Nm
Rear muffler mounting bolt/nut 26 Nm
Muffler clamp bolt (exhaust bolts to Cylinder head) 18 Nm
Screws the front muffler protector 14 Nm
Side stand nut 39 Nm
Luggage/Handhold Handles 35 Nm

Valve adjustment jam nut 14 Nm (now that's obsessive)

Front and top engine mount bolts 35 Nm
Bottom and rear (larger) engine mount bolts 60 Nm
Multi-bolt engine mount plates 35 Nm

I think, but am not sure, since I haven't changed one yet, that front sprocket bolts are 12 Nm.

Carb Jets

I used these from aliexpress.com. Each link gets 12 main and/or 12 pilot. It took a week or so for the shipping (west coast).

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mikun...243535818.html

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Modif...243554212.html

You put the sizes you want in the comments field when you check out.

Or individual jets here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281814107323...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

You can get front sprockets here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221723164918

As well as ordering the JTF259.17 for the front.

Note that the front sprocket that came off the Hawk has a 17.5 mm diameter to the keys and a 20 mm diameter for the shaft. The JTF259.17 has a 18 mm diameter to the keys and a 20 mm diameter for the shaft. Both seem to work fine.

Speedometer

Unless this HAWK is unique...

The HAWK 250 seems to have gearing for KPH not MPH.

Odometer appears to clocking at KMs and seems to be set for 17" front tire not 21" front tire.

It could be that you have a Metric speedometer with a US face. It has happened before.

Go for a ride in a 30MPH zone, and see if it points to something higher, like 50. If you have GPS, use that for comparison. Most smart phones will utilize free speedometer apps, and they can usually be converted from MPH to KM/H.

I could also try lower pegs . Any information on either of these would be appreciated.
This one will work. Unless you have exceptionally thick MC boot soles. It has about 1.5" greater reach and 1" offset over the stock lever.

However, because the bolt head is on the top rather than the bottom the install requires you to take the front sprocket cover plate off to install. Not a big deal just two 8mm bolts.

The various aluminum (multi-colored) shifters on ebay also work, but are about 3/4" shorter.Albeit color coordinating with the bike. Look for ones with the 155 mm reach.

The shifter shaft spline is 11mm.

If it's 5 over at 35, it will be 10 over at 70...might want to keep that in mind...about 14% off, same as the Cyclone RX-3

Alternate Toolbox

Didn't like the tools hidden under the seat... so..

http://www.harborfreight.com/welding...per-46477.html

4 dollars on sale and some spray paint leads to a subtle tool box. It is much more subtle that the photos imply. Attachment is made to already existing mounting brackets. Standard metal banding material was cut, drilled, and bent around container for mounting bands. M6-1.00 pan head bolts for attachments.

Watertight to boot.

If it were done in silver it would just about match the plastic covering the muffler.
