I think this is what I didn't do and was probably the culprit. New cable should be here today or tomorrow. I'll have to make sure there's no headlight intrusion.

If these keep snapping, I'm sure there's a Honda replacement that will work just fine. I have a new one coming from Ryan. If it snaps again, I'm going with the new electronic setup that mjstef has made for us. Problem solved.

It's crazy how many e-mails i get thanking me for these clusters. They are accurate, Easy to see, Gas Gauge works and you can see what gear your in. The sensor are in Cincinnati and Estimated Delivery is Wednesday, July 13, 2016 Not sure why so long when they came from Hong Kong overnight. Then if they work i am hoping to have a package put together for the TT in a few weeks. So far i have yet to break even on this venture due to R&D LOL! Worth it though to and still less than a Honda!

Everyone keeps talking about how many miles they have before the cable breaks, these display in kilometers. The speedo is primarily MPH, and reads a little lower than actual speed. Don't know how accurate the odometer is, haven't checked.

Got my new cable in the mail, as Ryan said it would. Quickly!
Pulled it from the sheath and it all looked really good. I cleaned and lubed the cable with DuPont chain wax and also, ran it through the sheath. It's so dang slippery it kept trying to fall out upon install!
Anyway, made sure it was routed correctly and I also bent the gauge cluster down a litrtle to make sure there was no issues with the headlight bucket. Time will tell!

The Volcano Daily News consists of "Jeb got drunk and wrecked his truck again" or "Mrs. Filberts cat got run over". Should be an easy route..... ;-)

I knew you would appreciate my comment . Our paper is most interesting for the arrest reports. Very descriptive and funny.

Head Scratching TT250 Fuse?

Okay, so I got the replacement speedo cable from CSC yesterday (nice and fast). So today I lubed it and installed it in a route with easier curves. I went to ride it to test it and as soon as I got to the end of my driveway, it completely died. Electrical failure.

So I figured I maybe caused a loosely connected wire to come undone or something when putting the headlight nacelle back in place. So when I'm feeling and looking around, I find two frayed wires coming from the ignition switch. They were in a rubber sheath, but still got frayed.

I haven't ridden this bike that much and I didn't go crazy with re-routing the speedo cable or anything, so I was surprised to see that. In fact, I don't think I even touched those wires when re-routing the speedo cable.

I fixed the frayed wires with electrical tape and then realized that the short blew the fuse. So I opened up the little plastic container by the battery with the fuse in it and lo and behold there's and extra fuse in it. That was cool! So I pulled the blown fuse and installed the new one and now I have power again.

I want to go buy another one to have on hand, but the fuse has no writing on it whatsoever and I can find nothing about it in the manual from CSC or on their site as to what size it is or anything, like amperage or whatever. Anybody know? Sorry if this is a dumb newbie question or something, but other fuses I've seen will have some kind of writing on them so you can identify the fuse. I'm new to this world.

I'm told that CSC is expecting a shipment of speedo clusters soon to replace those that are reading with KM's on the odometer, but MPH on the speedometer and they will be making them available to those of us who want them.

Hell, I'll take a spare just to make it right!...even if I do order mjstef's setup.
In all honesty, out of the scads of bikes I've owned in my lifetime, I don't think one single speedo was accurate. "Flow of traffic" was the rule.
