TT250 speedo

The speedo is set up to read MPH and is pretty close to accurate, the odo reads in KPH

yep, they have replacement instruments on order and plan to ship them out once they arrive.
won't really matter to me except as a mechanical backup plan to the digital display.

Actually, the odometer reads in kilometers, not KPH. It's a known shortfall and we are working it, but we appreciate you pointing out every issue with your new TT250 (real or imagined).

As for your observation regarding the instrumentation error, I invite you to peruse the CSC blog...

I've written about it's upsides and downsides as I encounter them with no bias. I've also written about simple fixes to some problems without putting the bike or CSC down. If my posts look like there's more negatives it's because that's what I've found, or that's what you've focused on. If you're referring to the emissions labeling thing, that's yet to be confirmed but it's not looking good.

I think that could have been handled with a bit more tact.

It seems there are more REAL and REPORTED than IMAGINED issues!

no surprises on that post - top shelf folks at CSC - across the board

I appreciate the apology and the support from the others.

After I posted my response I was left thinking "damn, did I over-react and just assume he was somewhat attacking"? My knee jerk reaction was to do something harsh in retort but I held back and I'm glad I did. Anyway, stuff happens. I assume that me bringing forth the emissions labeling thing may have CSC scrambling a bit and that may suck for them, but if it was going to come out it's better early than later so hopefully they'll be left feeling that it I helped rather than damaged them.

My speedometer cable broke at 63km. Breakage point is exactly 2.5" from the end of the cable. The routing was not such that it caused any pinching. One pic shows how it was routed before any removal prior to breaking. Seems having the barrel on the end being curved like it is along with the way it's crimped may contribute to the failure. Still can't feel any obstruction thou that would of led to the breakage. Called CSC last fri and they are sending out a new inner cable. At that point they heard of about 6 failures so far. I'm not certain how to prevent this again with the cable. Optimizing the routing is very limited.

Make sure you grease it up prior to install.

The problem as I was told is that if the headlight isn't installed right it'll bend the cable sharply, mine only made it 12.5km. Once the headlight is out, like in your photo, it's no longer being pushed and bent. They re-did mine and it still doesn't look great, but it's less bent than before. Time will tell, but I'm guessing they'll have to re-design it to really cure the problem.

There may be a routing issue but I'm betting on complete lack of lubricant from the factory. This has been this way with CB's for as long as I've been involved with them.
