Insurance??

Who has good rates for these?

My other bikes are with Progressive - but tfirst they couldn't find 'Kinroad' as a valid manuafacturer - when I insisted it was in fact titled and licensed for street use they quoted me over $400 annually for liability only?!

Hell my KLR is under $100 a year, I don't even pay $400 for basic coverage on my literbike!

Thanks in advance

Omega,
I did the online quote with Progressive for both the Roketas. When you purchase the insurance there is a place to input the name brand of the motorcycle. Just choose other and type in the name later. Also, you want to make sure you choose motorcycle not dirtbike. They really don't need to know that it is also a dirtbike. It should be about $75-$100 for liability only. I never had to talk to anyone, just did the online form. Got the temp card to print and got the hard copy in the mail. That's how I would do it. Otherwise, you may not be able to insure it. I couldn't find an insurer that would do Roketa when I called around, so this was my only option (and a good one). For $75 a year for insurance and $25 a year property tax (here in SC) I don't think it could get much better.

Dirtbike insurance is $75 / year from Progressive and includes $1000 add-on parts coverage. That's the same rate I know people have got for 2006 450f's. I bought it for my KX after my other 2 were stolen. Figured I'd keep the insurance for a year and evaluate it's usefulness after that.

Haven't decided yet if I want to deal with it for the Hensim... but I guess if someone's gonna steal a bike they don't care what brand it is.

I don't believe Liability was an option when choosing dirt-bike coverage from them... maybe it was though and I just didn't check it.

But yes - you will need motorcycle and not dirt bike if you're wanting it for something driven on the road.

My insurance is through Geico.. My annual premium is like 120$ a year, they could care less if your bike is an off brand

Ditto to what boostin said,

Geico dont care if its off brand. They charged me like $10 more for my Kinroad and $15 more for my Roketa. On top of my existing $90 policy on a 1981 kz 440ltd.

I'll just ditto the Roketa Db-07A through Progressive - $75/yr in Texas for Liability.

Got a quote on line for a Motorcycle - Other. Later is asked me to type in the make and model. They mailed me my binder and perm cards last week.

Yup! Do that. After you pay with your cc, you can immediately print out a temp insurance card. And you didn't hear it from me, but if you choose to print out the card and happen to remove your color ink cartridge, the "temp" writing doesn't appear on the card 8O .
