Another year done.
Just finished my 2009 taxes. At least I didn't have to pay in this year.

In Canada, a temporary income tax was introduced to fund the First World War.
It is fair to say that it has since become permanent. We're taxed to the gills; an average family with two kids pays 21.5% of household income vs. 11.9% in the USA. Still, we're not Sweden. They're taxed at 42.4%. 8O

With 3 kids and a wife in school I actually made out pretty well. I am sure Doc is in a different tax bracket and is actually supporting a few kids that don't belong to him. Obama tax increases will have more effect on him too.
So kinda get off topic, but that is okay. I just intended to say that i finished early this year. Never had them done this soon. Allen

Actually, in Canada if you figure in sales tax, GST, and property taxes we're losing >40% of our income to taxes.

I am no where close to that figure. Maybe 15%. I buy to much used stuff with no sales tax and property tax in my county in GA are low. My property taxes this year were $774. Of course I live in a shack on .67 acre.
