I'm still holding out hope for a 400cc DS at a reasonable price. I liked the 200, but I want something w/ a bit more pep. The new HiBird 250 is interesting, but even with it I'd want the higher HP version.

Besides that, I sold my 08 Lifan for $950 and bought the Ninja for $1000. A trade would be a bit of a step backwards. No offense.
No offense taken. Getting back on the Lifan after riding Japanese bikes puts into perspective just why Chinese bikes carry such a low pricetag.
I was thinking about keeping the Lifan, trying to justify it really, when I took it out for a ride recently. It's a good bike for what it is, but I don't think I could ever be happy riding it again.

I try not to compare them too much, since one (or both of mine) is made for pure street, while the other was made to run street and trail. I don't know how far off the Lifan street bikes are, compared to the Japanese stuff. I've sat on the Pag street bikes, and heard them run, but didn't get to ride them. I want to be fair.

As others mentioned in another thread recently, I knew when I bought my Lifan that it was my doorway back into riding, and not one I expected to have for a long time, although I did expect I'd ride it longer before going back to a full-on street bike.

smithyUK,
I would be an extremely unhappy customer if I popped open a crate and found bent wheels. 8O
Hell, I knew my bike had been abused (just not the extent) and you see how unhappy I was to find the bent wheels a day later...lol

Yah comparing this or any larger bike to a China bike is a bit too far of a reach.
