X Pro Templar Carbs choke sticking?

So today I finished out my last initial hour of riding. I noticed the bike kept dying at stop lights. Once I got back home I noticed a puddle of gas under the bike. What I finally realize is the bottom bowls longer hose would dump fuel for about 5-6 seconds at a time then stop and then continue.

When I pulled everything off the bike the choke cable appeared to at an angle going into the threaded sleeve at the carb. I suspect the choke wasn’t fully closing but I was wondering if anyone else had these issues?

If this is common should I just put a choke directly on the carb and be done with it or should I just buy a Mikuni Carb?

Thank you again everyone for your help! This sites been invaluable.

Your float is not closing fuel supply. It is just filling over. Open up the bowl and clean the float valve, maybe need to bend the tab to close sooner.

You can check the choke cable routing and lube the cable with silicon spray if it is sticky, but that wouldn't cause overflow.

I already removed the carb so I’m gonna do that in the morning! Thank you very much for the advice. Luckily I work on swamp coolers so I get the general idea with the float and what you mean.
