How much oil after thorough oil change KPX?

I check my oil by standing the bike straight up, and not threading the dipstick, and it seems like the bike takes way more than the 1.25 quarts, or so that it evidently should take. I checked it on a level surface, and add a little at a time. Am I doing anything wrong?

That's how I do it. After I dump the oil, I'll mark off a quart on the 5 quart tub of T4 Rotella. Poor in a quart, stand bike upright on level surface and check the sight glass. Then just add a little bit at a time until I see oil in the sight glass, about 1/4 the way up. Then I check the dip stick to make sure it reads good.

That's how I do from a gallon jug, maybe I just looked at my marks wrong. On the Rotella its marked in half liters, one one side, and half quarts on the other side. I don't mark it I just look at it. I guess I messed up. It's full though with the dipstick just sitting on top of the threads, and I guess that really all that matters.

1.25 quarts is about right.

I always stay true to the Factory Honda method of oil level checks with these knock offs. Start it, run it for a few minutes to get warm, let it sit a few minutes, check the level. I alwas aim for half and no more than 3/4 of the way up the window.

No window on the KPX but yeah, always check again with the dipstick after running.

That stinks. I like a good window.

I do too. A TBR7, even though it has the same motor as a Hawk does not have a sight window either. Over the lifetime of the bike that can equate to either wasted time, or not checking the oil as often, at least for some. .
