For hand held, I don't think you can go wrong.

My wife and I use a Freedconn T-Com Helmet system with voice activated mics for when we are both on the sidecar. If anyone is going to lose a handheld, it's going to be Mrs.C.

When I tried FRS radios for bike to bike com there was too much static and wind noise. Some of that could have been from the antique ignition systems on the old Goldwing and CX500.

The work very well. Haven't tested how far but at least .5 a mile which is good enough. Kinda wonky with the chinesium setup but the price and function are good enough.

We have https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094XDR4D3 helmets which have ear pockets and then I stuck the mic on the front, not much wind noise at all. If you want pics let me know.
They are rated for 800m, which happens to be half a mile, so they at least deliver on their promises.

Same units I've used since 2017. FM reception is okay, better in populated areas than in the sticks. The streaming works great. Calls work fine as does the intercom, but then the other end of the intercom is sitting next to me in the pontoon.

they won't be any good for wind noise, but certainly cheap enough to give it a try.

Is that the clip with the two allen screws? I've found the sticky tape clips the way to go with my Freedcon. I broke one of the screw clips a long time ago. The second one is hanging on but the last two helmets I bought couldn't use the clip with the screws, so I'll order some sticky tape clips for the shelf.
