I’m looking at asv levers and they have a set for the x-pect 200 but nothing for the kpx which sucks. Would the x-pect levers fit our bikes?

Hrm, this looks really interesting. It's basically a half-price XT250. I'm not a fan of the radiator wings, especially on a bike that doesn't have a radiator, but that's the style today I suppose. The 330 pounds is hard to live with though. That's 40 pounds more than an XT250. 40 pounds is a lot when riding off-road.

Charles.

Ok guys, a few updates. One, you do not need to remove any exhaust components to change your clutch cable. Would it help? Probably, but I still found it easy with everything together. Two, I pulled the trigger on some ASV levers, model number BCF41606SX. I’ll let y’all know how they fit.

Just changed the oil on my KPX yesterday. I don't know if this has been mentioned here yet or not but I used the K&N 112 oil filter it was an exact fit. Has anyone figured out where to get the two O rings for the oil filter housing cover. I reused mine but I would like to get some new ones for next time .

Yeah, the oil filter is a common size use on multiple different bikes. As far as the o-rings you should need to replace them. Just make sure to coat them with oil before installing. You can probably take one to you nearest supply house and match them up.

I've done 5 oil changes so far and the gaskets still look good and no leaks. I've been using some generic K&N 112 filters bought from Amazon that are only about $2.50 each when bought in a multi pack.

They are currently out of stock but sold as "SocketGas HF112 Oil Filter" in a six pack for $11.59. Hard to beat that.

Hey Jerry, someone posted something interesting on the FB group a while back about the oil cooler for this bike. I have the same one you're using, but they claimed that the oil pipe from the head isn't pressurized and is basically just for drainage. He instead recommended one like THIS, or THIS

It's basically the same cooler, but it attaches to the engine on the left side of the bike. It appears to be a 2nd oil filter? And looks to be pressurized. I haven't had any issues with mine, only put about 250 miles on it, but I might give this a try instead

the 2nd oil filter is just a mesh screen relocation canister because you have to remove the factory location of the mesh screen to install the the adapter.

Reading through the service manual there should be sufficient oil flow through the oil passage tube. The Oil screen Cooler is just as good if not better.

Hey Guys,
I'm new to the Forum & just got my 23 KPX250 Lifan last Thursday the 6th. Unfortunately they forgot the battery electrolytes, but the cartridge came UPS today & it's finally up and going. Need to break it in, but initial thoughts are that it's quick for a 250 & pretty pumped. It has a light weight feel & fits in my garage much better than my old Yamaha Virago. Even took it off road a bit today & will continue to share as I get used to it.

Question KPX250 highway?

A "highway" Search of this thread didn't turn up much. I'm wondering what a KPX250 is like during sustained (not just a couple of Exits) highway riding.

Does the 57" wheelbase offer enough directional stability?

Is it twitchy (like a leaf in the wind) at highway speeds (say 60 - 70 mph)?

I guess what I'm really trying to find out is: Is highway riding a KPX250 a nerve-wracking, 'white knuckle' experience?

The KPX is very stable at highway speeds. I feel very comfortable at 65-70+ MPH

That also depends on your nerves, and how you have the bike setup.

Incorrect rider sag alters geometry with your weight on the bike and can affect stability.

People talk about the Hawk being twitchy at highway speeds, but I have literally gone 75mph on my Hawk and felt perfectly fine. My rear is lowered a couple inches on it which relaxes the steering angle, so it's dead stable at speed.

Same will be true with the KPX.
