Templar M Questions

Has anyone had issues with frame rust developing inside the frame?

pichost

Chain had spots where it would get tighter and looser. Figured the chain was stretched, which it was. Replaced the chain but still found that the sprockets must have high and low spots in them.

Ordered a new rear sprocket JTR210.45 from Amazon but it does not fit the rear wheel. What would be the correct sprocket that fits on the Templar M?

Does anyone have pictures that show to to correctly route the cables for the front controls through the forks? My setup is a mess currently.

All input is appreciated, thanks.

Don't worry about that minor surface rust. Yes, it will get worse, but it will take years before it is significant.

On the JTR210 rear sprocket. You are the first I have heard about replacing it on the M. The website (JT sprockets for this one) shows the dimensions. It looks like you are OK on the hub diameter, but the drilled holes are off (not 153mm). Measure the distance on yours. Look for one that matches or contact JT and ask if they have one...

I agree with Thumper its just minor surface rust. That said when I start to see some develop on my new Templar X I will prolly do some POR 15 touch ups now and then.

POR 15 is a rust encapsulator that can be painted on rusted surfaces with some minor prep.

https://www.amazon.com/POR-15-40909-Gloss-Black-Stop/dp/B077J66P27/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3QR1FDAYF9TYR&keywords=por+15+4oz& qid=1679860939&sprefix=por+15+4o%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-6

You can get a small POR 15 kit with a 4oz can for $28 on Amazon. The 32oz larger cans are going for $67 which pricey and a lot of product for what you have and would need.

I have rescued a gas tank before using POR 15 and I have a pint of it in the garage (new). The tank was from a nice 1980 or '81 GS1100G, maroon. It was developing classic lower crease rust out. It sealed it right up!

But I am curious about the JTR210 NOT fitting the Templar M rear hub. I did not expect that.I got a JTR210-39 for my Blue 6 speed Temp X and it fit perfectly.
