KPX 250 valve adjustment

Hi everyone from Florida, so I just passed 100 miles on the KPX and so far everything has been good except the rear tire was rubbing on the exhaust pipe so I just tried a 5/8" spacer between the top bracket and the pipe so I will see if that works. Has anyone had this problem? Also, when should I check/adjust the valves? Is there a certain milage you go by or do you tell by the way the bike runs? Thanks

No issue with my rear tire rubbing but there have been a hand full of owners that did.

I did my first valve adjustment at 500 miles. My exhaust valve was tight and needed adjustment.

Thank you for your response Jerry, these 4 strokes are new to me. Also is the tool you used to adjust the valves available on amazon or is it a motorcycle shop thing?

The tool I use was given to me but there are better tools on Amazon. An open end wrench and a small adjustable wrench will work just as well.
