2021 green Lifan X-pect FS

Selling my 2021 green Lifan X-pect with only 300 miles on it, in order to finance buying a KPX. Runs perfectly, still breaking in. Perfect condition. Clear title.

On the bike:
cheap helmet-size Chinese locking top box, about $60; link below
JT sprockets and chain, 17T front and 42T rear, for road gearing
Tusk folding shifter, red

Off the bike:
two spare stock tires with 100 miles on 'em, one front and one rear
stock 15 and 46 tooth sprockets, stock chain, stock shifter

Pic of bike when brand new in post 16 in my original thread for the bike:
http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...t=29655&page=2

Top box:
https://www.amazon.com/Yescom-Motorc...318428&sr=8-12
The box comes with quick-detach hardware, but I just bolted it directly to the luggage rack using the four bolts that the bike came with. I still have the hardware and instructions.

It was $2200 last fall at the dealership, which adds $200 compared to Venom. Venom is out of them and wants $2400 now. I'm thinking $1900 on CL, but $1700 for a member here. You gotta come pick it up though; no shipping. I'm about 35 miles south of St Louis. Recommend a trailer, as max speed is about 64 if you're tucked in.

So Plan A is to sell it here. Plan B is to trade it in to the dealership, to avoid Plan C, the joy of selling things on CL. I imagine the dealer won't give me all that much, wholesale.

Lemme know wut u think. Is my price fair or am I smokin' the good stuff?

The X-pect actually does what I need it for....a backup vehicle for grocery runs etc, and just general putting around town for fun and short errands. It's probably overgeared right now with the 17/42. I think that is limiting revs in 5th. But on back roads with speed limits of 45 - 55, where I normally ride it, it's fine. Might try sticking the 15T back on to see if it frees up revs to get more MPH out of it. As geared, speed really drops off on hills.

But the KPX is a game-changer. Properly geared and tired, it's like the VW Beetle of motorcycles, a true do-all bike. I would want to see a 3.4-gallon (or more) Rally tank option like the Honda 300, but that's all I would change. For simplicity, I actually prefer that it is not LC, especially with the oil cooler option. Honda quality at bargain-basement prices.

I hear yah, I'm the same way with the Hawk. Like the Xpect they are good reliable bikes But the extra HP and 6th gear on the KPX really is a game changer. Makes the bike more versatile and at a decent price.

The dealer now has ten KPXs ($3400), three of each color, and eight X-pects ($2500).

I wonder if he was always such a troublemaker? He was probably one of those high school kids who carried their cigarette pack under the sleeve of their T-shirt.....

I took a pic of the KPXs at the dealership next to two X-pects, but it's huge and upside down on my HD. Might try to futz with it.

Dealer's a good guy. Thinks Lifans are almost Honda quality. Wasn't interested in my X-pect as a trade-in because he has eight new ones. So the scheming continues.....

BTW, forgot to mention I sat on both the X-pect and KPX while there. I'm 5'11", 31" inseam, weigh about a buck fitty. On the X-pect I was flatfooted with some bend in the knees. On the KPX I could sorta flatfoot, but usually my heels were up about 1/2" or so. A 180-lb guy with a 31" inseam would likely be flatfooted.

We are about the same build. I think the rear spring will settle in after a while and we'll be able to flat foot it.

We look similar above the neck too. With the exception that I went with the very wide center part in my hair. You know, the streamlined look so I can run faster, and absorb more Vitamin D.....

A green one was being assembled while I was there, so all three colors would be on the floor.

Looks like the KPX dwarfs the Xpect. The size of the forks alone are a huge difference. I know my Hawk looks scrawny next to the KPX. lol

Yeah, the tube thickness and USD forks will give it much greater rigidity.

I just ordered a JT 15T sprocket for the X-pect, to try to free up some revs in 5th. 15/42 instead of the current 17/42. I have the stock 15T Chinese sprocket, but don't want to mix soft stuff with good stuff. The Chinese sprockets and chain are just backup.

To seriously set it up for offroad, and a top speed of maybe 50ish MPH, go 15/50, and keep a 17T handy for road duty. Just changing out the front sprocket will let you keep the same chain, since it's only a two-tooth difference. Just need to re-adjust it. Make sure to set the chain up initially with the largest sprockets, and have the adjusters 1/3 to 1/2 from the front, to give you room to move the adjusters backwards when you install the smaller front.

Relevant ratios:
..........15.........17
42......2.80......2.47
46......3.07......2.71 stock
50......3.33......2.94

Front sprockets: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...fuge08-20?th=1
Rear sprockets: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...fuge08-20?th=1
