Sourcing the wheel speed sensor is the tricky part, at least for the hawk. I spent ALOT of time on AliExpress and even ordered one that didn't work. You'd think it would be easy with a couple of suppliers getting thier hands on them. Maybe a temporary supply issue, I dunno.

Yeah...what's up with that dang wheel speed sensor? I have determined that the TBR7, the Hawk, the BSR 250, the Brozz and the BMS CRP all have the same sensor! Where are they getting them???? The only one that is on the ALIexpress website that has a 12 mm axle with the 57mm width seems to be the only one that's close to fitting? You know, the $19 one.

I bought the Zanella version for my Hawk and couldnt be happier. Easy install and tach works great. The speedometer reading is a few MPH off but that's ok with me.

I also bought the SAMDO version that you can see on ChinaRiderNC's TBR7, and you frequently see on the various GROM clones off Amazon. I haven't installed it yet on my Magician but it looks easy enough and I like how you can change the colors of the display.

Yep, got the Zanella one myself and did an install video for it, and then showed it compared to GPS speed on my cell phone. Someone told me how to adjust it and I need to go back and look but for now i'm ok with it being a couple MPH high. MUCH better than the stock cluster IMO

Appears to be very similar to the one Motocheez installed a few years back. Not sure if he got his from Matt or Tako but for $25ish I think I'm gonna just order it and see how it works....I'm gonna take measurements on my wheel speed sensor as well so I can order one of those at the same time. I don't mind waiting a month, especially to get out of this for under $50
Did you receive this and install or switch to the Zanella?

Ditto to what ''T1jeep' said and what did you find out about the wheel speed sensor? Here is one for a 'Hawk 250' I just found on Alibaba for $5 plus $21 shipping:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...4a6a7408z2rAJ6

Edit 7/7: On the 23rd I went ahead and ordered it and they changed the price of shipping to ~$14 - so I paid ~$19 actual. Just waiting for the ~$24 Digital Speedometer! $50 is better than $105.

That's interesting, I spent hours searching and couldn't come up with anything. But I think I was on AliExpress, don't you have to be a business to purchase from alibaba ? I don't really know but I mean really so it would be about $30 for the sensor and $30 for the cluster so you're at $60. The extended wiring for the gear indicator and tach is not included. So at the end of the day, I should have just purchased the one from Zanella on Amazon in the first place and thats what I ended up doing anyway. I did install it, have a step by step video if anyone runs into problems I can share what I did.

Was worth the upgrade, probably not worth trying to save a few bucks and piecing it together. If the speed sensor was easier or cheaper to get, I'd go that route, you'd just have to build your own wiring from the cluster harness back to where the gear indicator and tach tie in.

I have a 2021 Magician and had a buddy 3D print a new instrument cluster to house a GPS speedometer from Amazon. I'm looking for someone willing to send me a Hawk OEM dash so we can create a new GPS cluster for it, too, possibly with an electronic tach as well. You'll get your original cluster back of course, just need it for prototype dimensions.

How do I get it to stay in settings mode? I hold the button, start it up, and as long as I hold the button it cycles what appears to be tire diameter. As soon as I release the button it exits settings mode. Any thoughts?

Do you mean 'turn the key on' when you said, 'start it up', or do you actually start the bike? That might matter. I'm pretty sure that you just turn the key to 'on' when you start setting up the speedo, not starting the bike.

Thinking about it, as I am going to be attempting the same thing, here is a link for a digital speedo from aliexpress - and if you scroll down past the Description of the speedo it will give you a list of how to set the speedometer. Hope this helps:

Here's another one, they are kind of confusing:
