I haven't had any electrical issues - nor have I heard of any. I figure for those that don't want to dig into carb tweaking, the DLX model should be their go-to choice.

I'm running the DLX in Steamboat, CO and it crushes it! Swapped to a 17T front and can hold 55mph all day long, 63mph is totally attainable on flat ground but about where it maxes out. Tons of mid and low end torque makes it a blast on the trails. Check out the Hawk FB group which has lots of DLX riders there reporting improvements with intake, exhaust, and timing upgrades.
