Insurance issue.

I tried to put my new Hawk DLX on my Progressive Insurance policy today and they won’t cover it,I’ve had all my bikes on Progressive since 2007.
What insurance companies will cover these Chinese bikes ????..

It took me a little bit of back and forth with State Farm to get coverage but now that it's done it should help the next person, at least those in Illinois

My Hawk is insured through progressive. Try again with another agent. Listed as other make and then RPS Hawk 250 in description.

I have mine with Progressive, also. Did the whole procedure online (like I have done for the past 15 years) with no issues. Have never talked to an agent.
My old GL1100 is the primary at $75.00 / year.....the Brozz adds another $20 / year.

I have my TBR7 with Progressive, and had no problems at all. I would call someone else in their company if you would like I can show you my insurance card. But that shouldn’t be necessary. Just talk to someone else at Progressive because the person you talked to is misinformed. Good luck

I have state farm. It did take them a little while to figure out what it is and give me a price, no real issues.

I did provide the the model of a Honda that was somewhat close so they had a starting point.

I went on line to my Progressive account and they let me add it to my account no problem and it’s $60 per year.

Progressive vs. Geico

I was comparing Progressive & Geico in changing all of my insurance (auto and Motorcycle). Their pricing for me was about the same (saved $175/mo over State Farm!), but I went with Geico because of the same issue described in other posts.

The Zongshen TT250 was not in the Progressive database on-line, so all I could do was put "other" for make and CSC TT250 as model. This was OK for basic liability coverage, but the web-site would not let me add comprehensive (which I wanted for theft protection). I called and no go; as the phone rep said it wasn't in the database because it was an import. I pointed out (as others have) that a Honda/Kawasaki/Yamaha are imports too, but that did not compute. Guess they don't like China (even though much of the content of Japanese bikes are made in China).

Geico, on the other hand, has Zongshen in their database. Got Geico with comprehensive. Good deal for Geico...as they also got my 4 cars and other motorcycle (a Honda XR250R).

With Geico (I suppose Progressive too), make sure you set up with auto-pay out of a checking account or credit card, as they give you a discount for that.
