Hello from the High Desert in SoCal

New to this forum and to dual sport riding in general. I’ve had several Japanese cruisers over the years, but I have never owned a dual sport. I’m hoping to get a CSC TT250 very soon. Many people here and elsewhere really seem to love this little bike.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little skeptical, but the price is good! The dealership is close to my house and they are street legal in California. Did I mention the price?

I’ve watched so many videos about this bike on YouTube. It looks like a fun toy to play with and wrench around on.

I would like to meet up and ride with people in my area as soon as I’m equipped. Looking forward to meeting and learning more from you guys and gals...

Take care

I gotta ask about your moniker/name, are you an amputee? I lost my left one above the knee in 1990 in a rather gruesome motorcycle accident.

Pete....welcome aboard! If you are interested, 2lz a few years ago did quite a write up and mods on his csctt250. He has sold it a month ago to thin the herd. If you have any questions, he is a god guy and would answer.

Welcome to here! The TT250 is among the top of the heap of Chinese dual-sports and living near CSC's hq is a big bonus. As you found out, it is the only CG Honda clone dual sports street legal in California, but again, with its quality and CSC nearby, being the only choice is not a bad thing. Actually, there is another dual-sport bike CARB certified, sold by SSR, but it is about $1k more and difficult to find. That bike is a different animal as its engine is based on, and a clone of, the Suzuki TU 250cc engine but without the fuel-injection. The reason I bring it up besides being California-legal is because one member here, dh, has one and lives in the high desert area.

Yes, I’m a BTK amputee on my left leg. Yeah man I was in a bad bike accident in 2004... I’ve ridden since, cant get that out of the soul. Once it’s there, it’s always there. To my wife’s dismay of course. I think dual sporting will be a solid compromise with her. Lol and it looks like so much fun.

I’ve never met another amputee rider. Very cool. Glad to make your acquaintance.

I've met a couple over the years. 2 years after my accident my best friend decided he was gonna get me back on one, not sure if that was a good thing lol. I'm sure you have in mind how you wanna set your bike up already, just keep in mind these bikes sit pretty tall as far as climbing on and off so I dropped the rear of mine 3". And being that they're dirt oriented I went with a very simple slap shifter instead of a suicide shifter. Wider pegs helped me too. Hope you get your TT soon, they're pretty nice bikes with excellent customer support.
