Hawk 250 Grommets

Surely most in here have observed how lousy the stock grommets are that help hold in the fairings (side body panels) for the Hawk and other China motorcycles. They're too soft, make the panels difficult to remove at times, and tear up easily. If you're looking to replace them, these are drop-in replacements and ship fast from Amazon. About $8 for the package which includes 2 oval-shaped grommets (for the front of the body panels), and 2 round ones (for the rear of the body panels). Bought these the other day and they're MUCH better than the crappy stock grommets. They hold up well, they're much firmer, and they don't slip out of the frame. Panels are MUCH easier to remove and reinstall, with a nice snap-in feel after they're installed. Well worth the $8 IMO...

What price are they fetching per grommet? Do they have the oval and round-shaped grommets?

They were round. Two to a pack for under $2.

That's a great find as well...wouldn't have thought to look at Lowes or HD for grommets. Are they made of fairly firm rubber or do they seem soft like the stock grommets?

They lasted about a year from the last time I replaced them. Better than the ones that came on the bike.

For what it's worth, smearing some silicon grease on said grommets and/or the plastic pins on the panels makes life a hell of a lot easier in installing and removing said grommets. It's good for the rubber, and greatly helps prevent damage. I probably had my panels off more times than most and never had a single problem.

I must be dumb, I just squirted silicone where the grommets were and taped the fairing into place. They all have at least 1 screw. So far so good. Even pulled on and the silicon stayed in place and I was able to put it back without messing it up. Grommets are way smarter.

Went to Harbor Freight tonight those grommets don't look like the right sizes. Not sure that they would work.

Aliexpress sells them by dozens for a few dollars and they are usually shipped free by E packet.
