Registering & Titling in SC

I am ready to hit the road here in SC, but I need a tag.

How do I title and register this with the DMV? I don't have a title or MCO or Bill of Sale.

I can get insurance easily, but I need one of those other items in order to get a tag...even a temp tag!

Can anyone explain the process for SC residents?

Did you request the MCO or Bill of Sale from the dealer yet? Most dealer require that you request the MCO or Bill of Sale through the website or email with the Vin# , Name and address so it can be filled out properly.

So, I just checked the mail and the MCO and BoS were there! Awesome!

Yes, and it clearly states:

You can start the process of transferring a South Carolina title and registration for a vehicle bought from another person or business that is not a dealer.

I purchased from a dealer, so I cannot use the link provided. Besides that, when you click on the link you are presented with these options:

Vehicle Services
Complete Registration Renewal ($)
Obtain a Duplicate Registration Certificate ($)
Exchange a plate for a new plate design ($)
Replace a Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Plate ($)
EZ Online Duplicate Title

None of which apply to obtaining a new motorcycle registration.

Proof on insurance, receipt where you paid for the bike, and MCO/CCO. This is all the DMV needs to reg and tag a new bike.
