removing valves and valve springs?
Anyone have any tips or a walk through to remove the valves from the head? Do I need a special tool? Any help is appreciated!

You will need a valve spring compressor. YouTube has plenty of videos on how to do it.

The best valve spring compresser I own is the drill press...
smal bit of wood / plastic under the valve head... a bit of pipe with 2 sides cut away... set the table on the right angle ,clamp a bit of wood/anything across it to stop the head sliding... ..

i was able to take them off with no tool, just a socket and a good tap with the hammer. however, putting them back on without one was very very tough! I ended up buying a valve compressor for 26 dollars on prime for next day shipping lol.
