Thumb throttle question

SO, on the 250 Bulls they use a thumb throttle, the issue is my sons and now g-friend are saying its hard to ride long distances with that type of throttle as it gets tough to hold for very long..I kinda experienced the same after a few hours, but not so much.

Anyone change one out to something else, or just suck it up, which is a fine solutions well.

I put standard twist grip motorcycle throttles on my ATVs. Feels more natural to me after riding motorcycles for 50+ years.

I prefer a thumb throttle on an ATV, since you're actually turning the bars (as compared to a motorcycle). I use a thumb extender, like this one: https://www.kolpin.com/throttle-master
Sometimes you can find them at Walmart in the ATV section. They allow you to use more of your thumb or even part of your palm to work the throttle on long rides.

I have a thumb throttle on the wife's Polaris, she likes it.

My 7 and 9 yo daughters are complaining of sore thumb issues, too, but an reluctant to give them one, as they do decrease the effort involved in using the throttle, therefore it's actually harder to maintain a consistent speed, and it's easier to accidentally hit the throttle when you didn't mean to, so might not be great for younger kids just learning throttle control.

There is a little plastic thing available that works the thumb throttle with a twist grip .Its basically a piece of plastic pipe that slips over the grip ,that has a lever that works the thumb throttle .I don’t remember what it is called but you should be able to google it .
