A cheap truing stand makes the job much easier. HF sells one.

Thanks again. I may take it to a shop if I cannot do it. I Hate buying a truing stand then not be able to get it. Seriously I have done all the work on the hawk so far and every time I do it, I have some major problem that makes it take 3x as long to do.
I do not want to mess up this wheel as my son rides the bike. If I go down, no biggie, if he does due to my incompetence.....I could not forgive myself |

Truing a wheel is hard to mess up, but I can understand your hesitance. The one thibg truing a wheel takes is patience. It can be a slow and tedious process.
