HENSIM Hawk? Ready to Buy But No Longer RPS?

I have found one to buy but it is called a HENSIM Hawk 250cc Dirt Bike. I was waiting for an RPS Hawk 250cc but the dealer changed the name. I assume it is the same bike. They did not change the pictures?

They ALL look very similar. Anyway. What is up with the HENSIM. I really like a nice cheap enduro so supplement my other larger bike... Newbie says Thanks.

RPS is just the importer, they re-branded it with Hawk and, I assume, got the EPA certification. Here's the actual product page:
http://www.hensimmotor.com/moto/prod...road-bike.html

For example, my Hawk's title says "Chongqing Hensim Motor Co." on it in the manufacturer field.

From what I found looking at these bikes before I decided to order one, they are produced by both companies. I've even seen them referred to as Hensim-Haosen Hawks, so I am assuming two companies building the same bike to meet demands.

Something kind of interesting I noticed on the Hensim website for the Hawk is the power rating of 12.8kw, which is 17.17hp. Although, looking at the engine specs, it looks like they use a slightly different variant of the engine, but overall similar specs. Makes me wonder just how much power the lean carb tuning and catalyst really rob from the RPS version of the Hawk.

The factory address of BOTH are the SAME. Haosen is in biz since '13 while Hensim had a longer history, The HQ is http://j.map.baidu.com/VYSyI

I figured it was something along those lines. So neither name is really wrong, because it's both lol.

Well I just bought a green HENSIM Hawk 250cc Dirt Bike. Looking forward to it. All my early motorcycles when I was a very young man were Enduro's. I recently also bought a Chinese Scooter. Which I was very pleased with. Reason I bought:

1) These things are so cheap you can buy 8 of them for the price of one name brand bike...

2) I was happy with the Chinese scooter I bought

3) Reminds me of my youth when I owned several dual purposes bikes. I like how stripped down and basic they are, but they do have electric start.

4) They can be worked on, have lots of opportunity for fine tuning, customizing, improvements and modifications, which is fun.

How are those dual purposes tires on street and dirt?

From my limited on-road mileage, I can say the tires do ok. Mine are very soft, so I can't see them lasting more than maybe 3-4k miles before they hit the wear indicators. Like any knobby tire, they are a bit squirmy even aired up to road pressures - factory is 32psi front, 40 rear - and of course they love to catch cracks in the road and pull the bike around a bit.

On your third point about the electric start. It is a nice feature to have, but the kick start actually requires very little effort. Since the motor is relatively low compression, it makes kicking it over a breeze. I've done it a few times just because I can lol.

That bike in the link has Bashan Shark styled tank shrouds, and is a VERY good looking bike!! I wonder how tough it would be to get replacement parts for this Hensim model?

Oh, and THIS thing looks awesome!
