TA-DA!!

well I fixed her!!

let me explain

this model shineray I have has a dual exhaust setup, when I lost one of the mufflers I plugged the end with a pipecap (it was under the faring so you cant tell it had dual exhaust)

As it so happens the remaining muffler's metal mesh (on the inside) came loose and wadded up the inside of the muffler. I pulled it out and there I had it, the bike now runs normal!!

Thank you guys so much for your input and willingness to help, my car is in the shop so I am ecstatic that I can now get places without the need to bug my friends and co workers 8)

oh nooo, it came back. its not as bad as before, but it is pretty bad, adjusting the A/F mixture does very little to help.

sorry about not getting a pic, Ill try and get one soon. I dont have internet at home yet.

I'm telling ya; check fuel flow from the tank and check the coil 12v connection. I've experienced both.

Man I have having same issue...

My biggest problem is the ratio screw is at the very bottom of carb... and I have about a inch and a half to try to get a flat head screwdriver on it.. :(

So I will either use the screwdriver bit from an interchangeable screwdriver (which I have been doing)..and try to get it lined up and get my hand in a un human direction and try to adjust the screw...

OR: take carb off and on every time I adjust...

Got idling and starting good but it bogs and is unridable

Already fouled one plug dealing with the darn thing

I took a cheap little pocket screwdriver and bent it into a 90 Degree cheap screwdriver

They also sell a very short 90 driver with a phillips on one side and a standard on the other.

How did you loose one of the mufflers? Did it break off?

KW...wrap the bottom end of one of those removable screw driver bits with electrical tape. I made a mini-screwdriver that way. BUT it is still a real hassle.

What works good for me is a long set of forceps/hemostats

1. Shut the fuel off at the petcock, remove the line and slowly open the petcock. Gas should run out. Do the same on both the "run" and "reserve" positions.
If gas comes out, check the line from the tank to the carb.

2. Follow the plug wire. One end is stuck on the plug, the other end goes to the coil.

a while back when I drained fuel from the bottom of the carb we noticed that it wasnt flowing out, sort of just trickling out. could that be a problem?

I had sputtering that went away when I adjusted the clip on the needle. Carbs can be tempermental depending on your height above sea level.. and what height above sea level the bike was manufactured at. If the sputtering problem is coming back, do an onsite search for adjusting the carb needle.. Its really easy.

With regards to your fuel flow... it wouldnt be the first time the chinese left some debris in the tank that could block flow... try cleaning your tank and lines as well..

its me, bronevaya, the author of this thread.

I fixed it.

it was a large pain in the ass, taking the carb off the bike. but it paid off. I still have stuttering (sometimes), but thats because of the exhaust.

also, factory, the needle clip was set at the very top, moving it to the bottom I can now start it without choke.

p.s, I did all the work on the bike outside my apartment complex, at night, with a flashlight in my mouth. all of my neighbors probably think I am an expert mechanic
